A CONNECTION TO THE OCEAN

Many children and young people in coastal communities grow up with limited access to safe recreational spaces, environmental education, and meaningful connection to the ocean. This gap contributes to fear of water, low swimming skills, weak ocean stewardship, and a lack of creative, healthy activities that build confidence and awareness.

Ocean Splash Academy was created to change that. We offer accessible holiday classes, swim lessons, sip-and-paint sessions, and outdoor environmental activities that help youth learn, connect with nature, and grow into empowered, environmentally conscious citizens.

Explorer Classroom

Engaging schools and communities through National Geographic's virtual learning exchange with explorers. Participants connect live with scientists, storytellers, and conservationists from around the world.

Blue Schools

Connecting schools in Cameroon to foster ocean literacy through project-based learning and capacity building. We partner with local schools to integrate ocean education into their curriculum, train teachers, and support student-led projects .

Sip & Paint

Relaxed art sessions inspired by nature. Young participants explore their creativity while painting ocean scenes, marine life, and coastal landscapes, all in a calm, supportive environment.

Holiday Classes

Fun environmental lessons for kids during school breaks. Interactive sessions covering marine life, ocean conservation, and coastal ecosystems all designed to spark curiosity and wonder.

Swim Lessons

Water safety and swimming skills taught by trained instructors. We focus on building confidence in the water while encouraging safety first.

Art & Nature Workshops

Creative painting and crafts sessions using natural materials and ocean-inspired themes. Participants explore their artistic side while deepening their connection to the environment.

Beach Clean Up

Youth-led action for cleaner coastal spaces. Participants take ownership of their local environment by organizing and participating in beach cleanups that make an immediate visible impact.

Eco Tourism

Short guided visits to local coastal attractions where participants learn about sustainable tourism and the importance of protecting natural spaces.

Nature Photography

Simple photography skills taught through outdoor activities. Participants learn to capture the beauty of coastal environments while developing observation skills and creative expression.
